Offline file .OST is very much useful to us when we want to work offline in MS Outlook. Outlook user is aware of the fact that OST files are stored in local system i.e. the system we use while working offline. An OST Offline folder doesn’t exist on Exchange Server. Being located locally in the system, you can change the location of the local Offline Folders file .OST to a different folder or hard drive.

The file on the hard disk which is containing all the offline folders is the Offline Folder file. .ost is the file extension for the same. You can create it automatically when you set up Outlook or when you first make a folder available offline. Now it’s easy to change the location of OST files. This also applies to when you use Cached Exchange Mode with Microsoft Exchange Server. handiweb.
